Alibaba wholesale marketplace will be launched in Aug. 2009. I just make some research on line and found a little hints for this big news.

Recently we got confirmed information about Alibaba`s wholesale website. Alibaba is the leading b2b company. They recently launched two new services in the manager stage : wholesale services and Alipay.

We think that alibaba will soon launch a Beltal similar platform, such as other wholesale marketplace, dhgate ,tradetang. The advantage for alibaba is they have payment settlement tool : alipay. According to its official financial report, the Paypal similar thing handle 90 Billion RMB transaction in 2008,1/3 of the ebay GMV!However, we think it will alibaba more time to become the bellwether for right now the china wholesale market is becoming mixed up by the fake products.

After research and confirmation, we found some post by a buyer in Alibaba`s community talking about the same thing. It is believed that their mini site is under developing.

After calling some senior ebay cross country seller, Review FBI make some conclusion or forcast on the Alibaba wholesale marketpalce:

1 It may be Mini site or sub channel of alibaba.com

2 They may use the same model as Ebay, buyer and seller, the core business model will be excrow.

3 Free, Just like the ebay similar thing in China, Taotao. However, our Ebay cross country seller just told us that Alibaba charge about 2000USD for the seller , which amount is 2000 in the first stage. It is really a good and promissing hints that marketplace will be free for Buyers!!

4 Alipay, it is Paypal similar thing powered by Alibaba. we both believe that it will begin to accpet VISA or Master, which is very popular in the west. However, we will update the Charge back policy in the future.

5 Dispute/Buyer Protection, Alibaba do have some opportunities to make some innovation here. For the other marketplaces are missing the buyer`s expectation at this point.

6 Scam/Fraud, Since the seller need to pay an entrance fee, the quality is guaranteed, However, it also means the Alibaba may have some bias when the seller have trouble.
