It was a wholesale platform like DHgate, almost the same: You and seller make a deal on the platform, you pay to AliExpress, Seller ships the good to you, you confirm then seller get the money.

This model was named Escrow.

2 Ali Express Suppliers

One of my friends, AKA my secret supplier, told me that AliExpress had a 20000 RBM (about 2900 USD) charge to become a verified supplier, what was more, AliExpress had a limitation for its first round recruitment.

It sounded that AliExpress had the highest standard for its suppliers, however, we found that some power sellers in DHgate also stepped in this new wholesale market. As disclosed in the Power Seller Secrets Exclusive, we believed that some of the power sellers did make direct money via all kinds of tricks.

Thus, it came to my mind that how Ali Express control its suppliers and what are the differences, let`s check next section

AliExpress`s Escrow was called AliPay, which was the bellwether in China Online Payment Field. (It defeats PayPal in 2003 when its affiliated C2C website, Taobao.com, took Ebay.cn down).Are there any differences between Alipay and other platforms?  No! Except payment.Other platforms used PayPal as the payment gateway.(Please see Update 1 for more info)  When you use PayPal, you may issue a dispute, claim or Charge Back when you experienced a scam.

However, AliPay  promote MasterCard`s Payment gateway as their primary payment methods to received the Money. Here were some of my findings:

1 No 3D verified – It was advantage anti-fraud security method used by lots of payment gateway, Alipay did not require the user enter billing address, which mean it may not required 3D verified

2 Charge Back – I did not know about the Charge Back policy of MasterCard`s Payment gateway, but if you issue a Charge Back to your bank, Your bank should deal with it.

Hmm.. . quite different situation in different categories:

Electronics:  All are non-Brand item copied the Brand items without any warranty!   Example:  A cell phone called “ GMN97G”, it was the clone of Nokia N97, and it just named it that to give you the hints.

Apparel:  No Brand Items, but lots of Item called “Designer xx”, they were still clone.

Maybe AliExpress and other China Wholesale platform believe “No guilty for clone “

According to aliexpress.com`s press release, Paypal has came to Aliexpress. Maybe Paypal just want a try in B2B market.
