Ownta.com Review: The First Wholesaler Telling You" We are Selling Refurbished"

Martin from ownta.com left a message via our comment system last year, hoping we could write a review for his site. When digging the details for ownta.com in April 2009, we thought it just too small to review. It was a totally another situation in the last few months. Ownta.com`s traffics had skyrocketed, almost doubled from the shopping season. It would be our time to unveil this wholesaler.

1 Own Group Ltd hold ownta.com

Posting the domain info might be bad but we believed it would be useful for user to review. Believed or not, for posing the contacts, ReviewFBI pissed so many sites that some of them even tried to do some evil thing. For the Martin, key staff of ownta.com, always kept his eyes on our site, he just spurred the domain registered info.

2 Products Review

 2.1 About the refurbished/recondition item

Is there any store saying they are selling refurbished/recondition items? I have found only ownta.com so far.

When you dig through ownta.com, you should keep you eyes open to see whether the description had refurbished or recondition statement or mark. It was good to keep open and transparent.

They also have clear statement on warranty issue but you may just skip them for there were so many implicit statements that you would be dispointed while claiming solution. The existing of ownta.com proved that our previous saying about the products was 100% right. The following illustration would teach you how to distinguish the refurbished items: check the title/refurbished icon/item image. (Some items only indicated in the title) The methods were not limited to our suggesstion. Please ensure to use commen sence,such as prices,

for your decision.

2.2 How about the branded items?

 They listed lots of the brand items, including most cell phone brands item. I recommended they should change them to “copy cats – Cell phone”. Most of them may be new and used standard suits with a customized outlook. Some manufacture may used refurbished/reconditioned item and sell them to trader like ownta.com. Keep your eyes open, do not trust you can buy cheap, real, brand item from China online.

2.3 Other made-in-china items

 Gadgets was one of their star categories, such as adaptor, HID kit, small secure items. You could find some surprise there.

3 Their services – Google shows just little info when we search “ownta.com scam”

I found Martin joined lots of wholesale communities. He tried posting on salehoo.com but the administrator deleted his linking.  
For the site owner was from Hong Kong, the site had more up-to-stand interface. VeriSign, McAfee Secure, Site trust, Trust ware … all were clickable and linked to corresponding certificates.
At least, they invested money to solve the trust issue.
If their service was bad, the consumer would stand out to say something for their scale would be the same as Bigboxstore.com, epathchina.com, tradestead.com, souringgate.com…
Just enter “ownta.com scam” “ownta.com complaints” in Google, you can find a few postings reflecting the new buyers` concerns, however, no real complaint or scam case was listed.
May be it still too small?

They offered reseller services once you purchased more than 500 USD. Webmaster would be also permitted to join this program. In my point of view, it was just a VIP program plus resell function.

4 Conclusion

If you are second hand item sellers, ownta.com should be one of your daily destinations. If you are looking gadgets, ownta.com should also be one your watch list.
Please never take their warranty policy and Brand item seriously, only those “cheap” none-brand items mean values and profit for you.
Just consider your reputation if you are try to start your business.
