Periwing.com Review: Unauthorized but Legit? About its Affiliated Websites, Products &Service

While searching for inexpensive wedding dresses online I came across Periwing. They seem to carry a variety of products and have an extensive bridal section. But I hold a cautious attitude about this Chinese seller and would like to look into it closely.

Periwing.com: is it legit? Any scam?

Most of viewers are attracted by periwing.com because of its beautiful sample pictures of dresses, especially when they are exhibited by models. Periwing claims that they are not an authorized retailer of all of the most designers and collections featured on their website. Most of the dresses at this website are not the original designed dresses but the copies. In the other word, they just steal the design pictures from famous designers and then sell the copies in a much lower price—that is their “business model”. This is definitely illegal in other countries. On some forums, I have heard some voices announce to deal with Chinese government to prosecute them, but nowadays intellectual property protection is confront with complicated circumstances, therefore things won’t change in a short term, which means, even though periwing.com is not legit, they still can run their business on and on.

Further information digging up told me that periwing actually has another three websites, which are perimart.com, peridress.com, perihair.com. That is not a good sign for a company to have four websites selling almost the same things. In my point of view, this is either periwing’s strategy to avoid legal issues or their trick to fool consumers, both add to its bad reputation. It seemed quite popular to set up individual site for a specific category products, pandahall,pandawhole, was another case for such China wholesalers.

Periwing takes forever--shipment &return service

Periwing promises to deal with every order in three working days and ship out in 7 days, but the fact is they always fail to realize it, just see how many viewers leaving angry words online. Most of the time, you cannot get any answer by email or by telephone. I have also attempted to call botimages/stories/China-Wholesale-Review/Periwing.com%20h numbers they have on their website, but no one picks up on one, and the other is a busy signal.

As for their return policy, it is the strictest one I have ever seen. You are requested to return the wrong or defected dress in 24 hours in original package with a lot of evidence papers, and they will seek for a hundred of excuses to prevent you to do so, even they agree to return you a new one, you still need to wait a long, long time. Altogether, periwing seems to take forever. That must be an awful experience when you are buying a wedding dress with fancy imagination but received with a dump of shower curtain.

Periwing.com can never guarantee you product quality. What they give you is a long time to wait for their mail or return. At last, remember that if you are not from China, you’d better not do business with this website since they are not legit.
