Totobay.com review: insight into its scam issue.

When I posted our China wholesalers watching list last year, some visitor just recommended that we should add totobay.com. Totobay.com was not listed on my schedule until I saw its frequent show-up on Google.com.

There was a post on alibaba forum reporting a scam case. The victim ordered some 16g memory cards, but the seller only sent some 2g memory cards which had been reprogramed to show 16g when user used it. The victim listed totobay.com as one of their associated websites. It surprised me after I read the whole thread. All the domains listed on that post were not active so that I could not make further investigation expect totobay.com

In totobay.com`s pages, I could see an UK address. However, their Verisign certification showed that they located in Hogn Kong. Traffics analytics revealed that up to 70% of its traffics was from China. Incoherence above seemed intentional and made it very suspicious. Following this phone in their domain registration, I found goldlin.cc, which was promoting blog focusing on totobay products.

Other buzz

Totobay.com was registered in 2007. There were a just a few reviews on it. Most of the reviews I found were not friendly. I could not see totobay.com`s staff stand out to respond, help to solve the visitor`s concerns. Not good at listening would also not good at serving.

Conclusion:

The last post of their blog was on Jun. It seemed they stop posting their blog suddenly. I could not say that totobay.com was a fraud (The real verisign, Macfee site scan, and Trustware certifications need legit company to use, so totobay.com did be operated by legitimate entity).

Anyway, I could not lay my confidence on totobay.com, which has no phone contact and some many conflicts on public profile, even their certification.
