Topons.com Review: why two stores? Product/Services review, scam &more

topons.com review

Topons.com was a new marketplace for wholesaling Chinese products. The domain was registered in Mar 2010. Following the domain info,we found something interesting.

Topons.com associated with ibuonline.com

The registered of topons.com left a China mobile No. , which was also the contact No. of Shenzhen Airey Electric Co., Ltd. It was an electronics manufacturer. The same mobile No. also had been used in ibuonline.com, another China Wholesale Marketplace.
Topons.com had several subdomains, including seller.topons.com, which should be used for recruiting seller. However, I could not found any info related with the seller profiles. It was no doubt that topons.com upload the products, but they plan to expand their business as a wholesale platform.

Product: separate store for fake products?

I searched a few product SKU in Google, all the search results just showed the listing from topons.com. SKU was also used for managing huge volume products. Unique SKU meant topons.com managing all the listing themselves.
It was a good sign for quality product. Judging from the product description and picture quality, topons.com developed port of the site content at least. Topons.com might be powered by Magento as they had 2 stores: Fashion and Electronic. You could swift between the two stores by click the tap on the right top corner. The fashion store was not convincible. Some of the product only had only one picture of the celebrity. The sport wears also were fake. If you try to buy these fake products, I did not think PayPal could protect you. (It might be one of the reasons why it built 2 stores because gadgets had little trouble in trademark infringement, but fashion did. How about hiding the store with dangerous categories? Especially when they could drove traffics from Google. )

Services review about topons.com

They offered online chat support, which was quite convenient for clients. They also listed a US phone No. for client support. It was not 800 free opt in No.
Here was their return policy:”
“ll returned items must be in brand-new condition, unused and with original tags and packaging. Photos or other evidence are necessary for quality problems, damage during shipping,…
We can not offer a full refund in the following cases:
1)Missing Accessories
2)Missing the serial number or UPC(for electronic products)
3)Damage incurred during return shipping, so you MUST pack returned items well
2. The settings of your computer screen may alter the color of the pictures shown on our website. Therefore, the slight color difference will exist and it is not caused by quality problem. We are not responsible for typographical or pictorial errors”

I could not mark it as user friendly. More “must” made less buyer satisfaction. I couldn`t help imaging how many “must “could turn up when you communicated with them.
They might never know what is “less is more “.

Is it legit? Scam? Complaint?

We went through all the popular review, complaint and scam reporting sites, little buzz was found. Topons.com was just too new to generate enough attention.

Conclusion

If their gadgets lowered their prices, I could buy it for a trial.
